Welcome Message

It is my great honor to welcome our colleagues, partners, and students to the 1st International Genetics and Synthetic Biology Competition. IGSBC was born from a simple conviction: Egypt has the talent to lead in synthetic biology — it needs the right platform to prove it.

Our vision is to build a genuine synthetic biology pipeline in Egypt, one that takes undergraduate students from their first project idea all the way to mentorship, publication, and industry connections.

We are equally ambitious about IGSBC's role beyond our borders — to grow this competition into a regional hub, connected to the global synthetic biology community, and to give Egyptian students a seat at that table from day one.

On behalf of the Armed Forces College of Medicine, thank you for being part of this first step.

Why IGSBC?

Our Mission

Combine biology, genetics, genetic engineering, and computational sciences to provide an accessible platform for Egyptian and international undergraduate students to engage in project-based innovation in genetics and synthetic biology.

Key Goals

Bridge academia with real-world applications, build researcher capacity, and establish Egypt as a regional synthetic biology hub.
